LaGuardia Terminal Reopened After Nut With Fake Bomb Prompts Scare

It's been a busy few days for the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey.
LaGuardia Airport is reopened now after it was shut down for several hours following a scare caused by a man with a fake bomb. Turns out the guy, identified as a 32-year-old New York man, was acting "strangely" at the terminal -- and when TSA officials searched him, they found materials that looked like they could be used to assemble a bomb. Is TeamSarah FINALLY getting tired of being used?

As some of you are undoubtedly aware Palin has been invited to speak at the Iowa Policy Action Center next month. The group is a pro-life, pro-heterosexual marriage, pro-parental controlled education, anti-gambling, and anti-sexuality group, that is very, very excited to have Sarah Palin as the featured speaker at their fall fundraiser.
However there is a small glitch. Apparently Queen Ester is demanding, at a minimum, $75.000 to attend any of these functions.

Cable News Shows Realize: Conservatives Are More Popular Than Ever

In my latest post for David Horowitz’s NewsRealblog I opine that cable news networks like Fox News and even MSNBC, are picking up on the fact that conservative candidates for office are more popular than ever.

Well, ever, since 1994, at least:

MSNBC’s “Morning Joe” invited conservative Republican Mario Rubio on two days ago, for instance (watch it here). Rubio is the former speaker of the Florida Senate, a real conservative, and he decided to challenge Governor Charlie Source: PoliGazette RSS Feed

South Carolina Update: the Scandals Continue

Mark Sanford won't be impeached anytime soon.

House Speaker Bobby Harrell on Tuesday turned aside an impeachment resolution brought by another Republican. He says lawmakers can only deal with a limited number of items in their abbreviated session this week. They came back to Columbia specifically to deal with unemployment benefits.

Harrell said state Rep. Greg Delleney can file the resolution next month in advance of the regular legislative session starting in January.

The Prude Campaign

Ever heard of the Front Page Campaign? I heard about it via an EDM signed by various prudes in Parliament. The campaign says "Children and young people are routinely being exposed to pornography in the UK. This has to STOP!", simple yes? Actually no, it's not.You see, this is not about a concern with kids seeing the cover of Mayfair, Razzle, or a variety of Richard Desmond titles with the exclusion of the Express (although it does do Diana/Maddie porn in a way). A Turn For The Creepy In Longmont?

We've been following the increasingly acrimonious "nonpartisan" local elections playing out in many cities around Colorado, and as we think we've made clear it's getting pretty nasty in some locales. Like in the city of Longmont, where heavy spending and big-league dirty politics by curiously mainline GOP interests, on behalf of specific candidates, has reached remarkable levels. We talked about about what seems to be a concerted move at the local level to build out a bench of the nextSource: ColoradoPols.com - Front Page RSS FeedSource: ColoradoPols.com - Front Page RSS Feed

In the '80s and '90s I did a fair amount of music writing as a freelancer, and in that time I saw probably over a hundred concerts, including a lot of great grunge shows in the '90s. Still, seeing Peter Gabriel on the '93 Secret World Tour -- he played locally at the Tacoma Dome, but the show looked identical to the one captured here, in Italy -- remains probably my favorite. the sun slowly sets on the west's oil men

Telegraph | “Oh somewhere in the $60 to $90 range for the foreseeable” – that was the consensus for the oil price that most energy executives milling around at the Oil & Money conference in London gave this week.
That is until John B Hess, the man whose father founded the $120bn oil-exploring Hess Corporation 76 years ago, shook up the room with his apocalyptic outlook for the world’s galloping energy consumption.
The price of $140 per barrel oil was not an aberration. ItSource: subrealism RSS Feed

Obama Fear Of Fox News Commentary Speaks Volumes

Like fear of the truth perhaps? They've become so addicted to the MSM Fluff over the past two years that "they can't handle the truth" to quote the fictitious Colonel Jessup AKA Jack Nicholson when anyone out there like Glenn Beck perhaps stumbles onto something they had hoped we all would be unconcerned with which has then ended with the termination of services of one of the Obama gang.

The Champlain Bridge crisis

There's a real crisis unfolding right now in upstate New York - one that state and federal authorities can do something about using stimulus money. The bridge over Lake Champlain at Crown Point, which was scheduled for repairs by 2013, has deteriorated to the point where officials suddenly stepped in this week and declared an emergency shutdown. This has stranded thousands of New Yorkers and Vermonters at home, and they face the prospect of not being able to get to work each day and losingSource: The Albany Project RSS Feed

The Malignant Nature of the Oath Keeper Movement

Truly malignant ideas crop up in a democracy with the frequency of toadstools after a summer rain storm. Most of these ideas are dismissed by the great majority of citizens after public debate in one fashion or another. Some of the ideas hang on despite evidence to the contrary (sorry Texas was readmitted to the Union and the Income Tax was ratified by the requisite number of states) but attract no real following.

Truly pernicious ideas, however, seem benign at first glance butSource: Red State RSS Feed
